Mr. Earnest Denman Jr.

On April 27, 1936, in Coldspring, Texas, Ernest and Jimmie Lee Denman welcomed their twin boys (Earnest, Jr. and Earl).  Earnest accepted Christ at an early age.  He attended Booker T. Washington High School, in Houston, Texas, and graduated in 1955.  In that same year, Earnest enlisted into the U.S. Air Force where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1959.   While stationed at Carswell Air Force Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Earnest met and married the love of his life, Joyce Lillian Hall.  To their blessed 59-year union, three extraordinary children were born: Paula, Keith, and Deidra.  He loved his wife and children dearly, and dedicated his life to making sure they knew it in both word and deed.  In fact, every card he signed for their special day, be it a birthday or graduation, he wrote as a reminder he loved them, “Forever and a Day.”  Earnest was an incredible father and source of unconditional love until the very moment he was called home to be with the Lord on the night of December 4, 2017. Earnest was a hardworking gracious man, who enjoyed barbecuing, crabbing, visiting with family and friends, and being an active member of the Booker T. Washington Alumni Association.  He also enjoyed playing dominoes...if there was a domino game happening in his presence, you could best believe he had a seat at the table.   Earnest was a resident of Northwood Manor for over 40 years.  He enjoyed sitting outside and reading the newspaper.  As Northwood Manor residents and guests would pass by, the “Mayor” as he commonly referred to himself, would smile, wave, and converse with those who stopped by.  The “Mayor” never met a stranger and was well loved in the community. Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, his sister [Willie Mae Johnson], his twin brother [Earl Denman].  Among the many loved ones who cherish him are his wife [Joyce]; his children [Paula, Keith (Tina), and Deidra (Terry)]; his grandchildren [Kristeena (David); Britney, Cameron, Allen, Justin, and Jacob]; his great grandchildren [Jordan, Kori, and Joshua]; his sister [Cora Lee English (Johnny)]; his great nephew Eric Denman (Jeanetta); and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
