My sister... You were so lucky to have him apart of your life-not only this, We all were.  He was so GRAND - We would talk about his family, wishing we grew up in the kind of family he raised and you believing they should question Monroe being with you....Maybe so, but honey, action speaks louder than words and this is what it took for them to see, believe, and accept you being with Monroe.  This is what made him so grand, raising a family to be non-judgmental, but Barb- so did our parents, even w/all the choices you regret...there's so much good in you.  I admire and even wish I could be more like you because of your heart-so giving and generous...You gave him just what he wanted and vice-versa...And this is what its all about.   PLEASE just know that.  And this is what his family also saw! Then there's our family- he felt very loved and accepted and so at ease with all of us, especially Dad.  I still see them both when we all went out to Dads, sitting by the fire, talking, laughing and just feeling the companionship.  Our family was as strong as there's-but there was just too many of us and the pressure, financial problems hitting now and again, and neglect just made the 2 people that did put the good in us loose whatever it is you loose-we saw it and accepted it, and all the good they gave us ~ that also counted.  Please believe and know this, Barbra....He deserved your love and vice-versa~~~~~AND THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT~~~~~~We all love and miss him so much and HE will never be forgotten.... Happy Birthday...darling~~and on this day--a whole lot of people thinking of you, spoke your name, and embraced your spirit.  Sidney had fun today - chasing ducks, while we talked....I forgot to tell you ~ he has taken over your chair.  We truly miss you and the sadness I still feel is strong.  I have a few more details to work out this, and I will have to get back with you, (today is not the day)  Many love you ~ many miss you, I see that smile and I know you feel us. Today, March 17~HAPPY ANNIVERSARY~~ Visiting you today was still very sad for me (I MISS YOU SO SO SO MUCH).  My days alone w/out you have gotten somewhat easier-(I now understand the feelings you had from the very beginning~~~of us)...I believe I can  close my book out soon. Its just too hard to say Goodbye.  You are still loved by so many people, friends and especially, family.  There's still sadness, and probably always will be.  We all love you and miss you terribly. Monroe....it's early morning, and I woke up with you so heavy in my thoughts.....It's Christmas time, and I am just feeling you..I want you to know how much I do think of you, and as always ~ have to talk with you...a lot you hear - a lot you don't....and I believe you are going to hear this!   I LOVE AND MISS YOU SO VERY MUCH--and I am saying Merry Christmas from me, Sidney, and all of us...You truly are missed and this year's Christmas....well, just has my heart in my throat....In my mind, and this ole broken heart of mine....it will be spent with you.....and I tell myself every day--how lucky I have been to have the years with you that I have had...(Oh, and I am still finding all these little letters you have written to me this past year..and they mean so much to me and will be my keepsakes. I was so sorry to hear about Monroe's passing.  He was such a kind and caring person and the love of Barbra's life. Being a friend of Barbra's for decades... he brought something into her life that she was missing and finally found in him... True and unconditional love. He was such a special man and he will most definitely be missed by many . God will bless this man in heaven.

Thinking back, as I take time to pay my respects to my wonderful friends, I remember feeling like I had known Monroe for years.  He was such a kind and gentle person.  He liked to grow a garden; tomatoes as well as flowers. Besides that, He loved to dance, and even tho I was a few years younger, I was the first one to sit down.  I will miss a great dance partner and friend, but one day I believe we will all see each other again.  Much and always love and will never be forgotten.  Mary lou

to the most wonderful man~~~ God ever put here, on earth, for us who knew him~~ was truly knowing an angel from that~ GREAT SPIRIT IN THE SKY~ but for Barbra... he was the best thing that she ever had in her life.
