Molly Neil Curry Stewart, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, the 16th of October 2012. Molly was born in Mangham, Louisiana, and moved to Houston in the early 1940’s. She met and married John Paul Stewart in 1943. She was a loving, generous, energetic mother and friend; and, after raising her children, became an accomplished, award-winning artist. Molly had a sparkly personality and added vitality to every get-together.
She was a long-time member of West University Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir for many years. She had an active role in the senior choir, the Prime Time Singers.
Molly is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Paula Sughrue and Lela Behee; son, John Charles Stewart; grandson, Andy Glover and great-grandsons, Haylen and Josue Glover, and her sister, Kathryn “Kacky” Williams.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening Thursday, the 18th of October, in the Drawing Room of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A funeral service in celebration of Molly’s life is to be conducted at half-past one o’clock tomorrow afternoon, Friday, the 19th of October, at West University Baptist Church, 6218 Auden Street in West University Place, where Dr. Roger Patterson, Senior Pastor, is to officiate.
