Mollie Blanche Hunt

Mollie is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Helen Burt. She is survived by her brother Harold S. Hunt, nephew Zachary S. Hunt, niece Laura R. Hunt, nephew Derek Burt and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mollie graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BA in Education followed by a Masters in Education from University of Houston Clear Lake.

Mollie lived a life of service, first as a high school history and english teacher for over 35 years, followed by volunteering for 17 years for Scout’s Honor Rescue organization. She helped with adoption events, taking dogs to the vet and fostered countless dogs until they found their forever home. She said “it’s ok” so many times to scared and hurt foster dogs that her pet parrot adopted the phrase and often chimed in that “it’s ok!” Mollie had a loving and positive outlook on life and enjoyed spending time in retirement with many friends and neighbors. Her house was full of love and she will be greatly missed.

The celebration of life for Mollie will be held on March 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church (1245 Heights Blvd).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mollie’s memory to Scout’s Honor Rescue.
