Miriam Reed of Houston, Texas passed away at 9:51 pm on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born in Houston, Texas on June 20, 1947. She attended the University of Texas, then became a mother at 19 years old. She worked full-time, was a single mother, and got an associate’s degree from night school at San Jacinto Junior College. Miriam lived in Israel from 1984 to 2002 when she moved back to Houston to care for her mother.
She is preceded in death by her father, Francis Tucker, and her mother Frances Tucker, of Houston, Texas and her grandmother, Nan Livingston, of Houston. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Beckmeier, of Houston, Texas, and her cousins, Linda Flowers and Janet Smith, also of Houston.
The family would like to thank the nurses of Bayou City Hospice, and Vosswood Nursing Center for caring for Miriam the final year of her life, with compassion and love. The graveside service for family will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery located at 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023 on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
She was a loving and caring mother and friend. She will be dearly missed.
