Milton Ray Parks passed away on May 13, 2024. He was 87 years old. Milton is survived by his wife of 64 years Edna Parks, brother Ted Parks, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Kimberly Parks, son and daughter-in-law Gary and Sharon Parks, daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Jeff Biehle, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Milton was born and grew up in the Heights area of Houston. He graduated from Reagan High school in 1955. After high school he was employed as an X-ray Technician and was also a member of the Texas National Guard Reserves. Milton met his wife Edna in 1958 while both were employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital. They were married on Sept. 26, 1959.
In 1962, Milton joined the Houston Fire Department. He had multiple promotions and retired as Chief Arson Investigator in 1987 after a distinguished 25 year career. In 1992, Milton and Edna moved to Hempstead, TX where they resided 20 years before moving back to Houston (Cypress area) in 2012 where they lived until his death.
Milton was an active member of his community. He and Edna were very involved members of First United Methodist Church in Hempstead where they both served faithfully for over 25 years.
Milton was a devoted and beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was deeply loved and is missed terribly by those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Minnie Parks, brothers James Parks Jr., Kenneth Parks and Eugene Parks, and sisters Betty Wisian and Connie Hodge.
