Milton Jerome Martin, 96, of College Station and formerly of Houston, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 15, 2016. A member of “The Greatest Generation”, he was born in Warner, Oklahoma and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a 34-year member and past president of the River Oaks Lions Club in Houston and a long-time resident of the Villas of Rock Prairie in College Station.
Jerome was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Pinto Martin, and by his three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by sisters-in-law Wanda Little Martin and Juliet Pinto Martin, both of College Station, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, on what would have been Jerome's 97th birthday, at 11:00 a.m. at Rock Prairie Baptist Church, 5000 Rock Prairie Road in College Station.
Memorial gifts may be made in his name to Rock Prairie Baptist Church.
