Mildred Pauline Scroggins Denson

Mildred Pauline Scroggins Denson was born in Waller, Texas on Saturday, September 15, 1917, to Willie Augusta Scroggins and Carrie Alice Jones Scroggins. She passed away in Baytown, Texas on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at the age of 93.

A longtime resident of Spring Branch, Mildred was an active member with the Eastern Star and Terrace United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved her cats.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Hobbs Denson, in January 1983 and by her sister, Grace Shandley in November 2010. She is survived by her nieces, Connie Raven and husband Tim, Sandy Maxwell and husband Danny and by her nephew, Freddie Bailey and his wife.

At eleven o'clock in the morning on Monday the 20th of August, family and friends gathered to a celebrate this wonderful woman's life at a graveside service in section two of Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston, led by Reverend Dr. Charles Greene of Terrace United Methodist Church.
