Mickey Amos Sr., was the 5th blessing of 12, to Esther (Peters)Amos and LV Amos on 28 December 1969. He had graduated from Carver high school in 1969 then went on to join the US Army. It was in the Army, where he found a fulfilling lifelong career and retired as a Master Sergeant.
Mickey was a fun, loving, family man. He liked fast cars that he rev up, Cadillacs that he cruise, a great game of “noise-talking” dominoes, the BBQ pit smoking his favorite meats and Texans game. But what he truly enjoyed is a quiet morning fishing from the shore, either alone or with some quiet company.
Mickey Amos Sr., was preceded in death by his mother and father, older sister Auntie Jenkins and older brother Edward Amos, Sr. Mickey lives behind his children LaChesha Phillips (Reggie), Mickey Amos Jr. (Melissa), Marcus Gandy (Civa), and Marcus Jones. His grandchildren Deairio Douglas, Kendrick Ligon, Cheyenne Amos, Malik Gandy, Kyshawn Dunkley, Rick Wahnee, and Iyionee Gandy. His only great granddaughter Sophia Douglas. His siblings Caroline Amos, Aline Green(Robert), LV Amos Jr., Everly Amos, Edgar Amos (Caroline), Maude Arthur (Kenny), Peter Amos, Sharon Amos, as well an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Mickey will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal service will occur Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
