Mike Yowell born to Eliza Phelps and Harry Yowell in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The second of three brothers with three sisters to follow.
Rodney Yowell(wife Margie), then Michael and Derrick Yowell (deceased).
Sisters; Teresa King, Collette King and Andrea Green along with their families and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike’s family is his wife Patricia Yowell
Children; Tara Rogers, Michael Yowell Jr., Michelle Hart-Maye, Jomika Thomas,
Ericca Yowell, Christopher Guerrero and Sean Guerrero.
Son-in-law Michael Thomas, Daughters-in-law Jen Chrans Guerrero and
Ashley Salinas Guerrero. Mother-in-law Dorris Sullivan Byrd.
Grandchildren; Torian, Brittany(husband Drake), Enique, Damon, Henri, Mikiya,
Davion, Michael (deceased),Terrell, Jarell, Rod, Raniya, Sean, Isiah, Ethan, Gavin,
Olivia, Skyler, Eva and Luca.
Great Grandchildren; Journi, Mecca, Sage, Kaori, Torian, Kevin, Tristan and August.
Mike attended Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis before fighting in the
Vietnam War for the 173rd (the herd) Army Airborne.
Later Mike worked for a Veterans Group in Indiana then went on to obtain his
Masters Degree in Illinois and his Law Degree in Los Angeles.
Mike was fearless in his quest for adventure; he was strong but also sentimental.
Loved ones and friends sought him out for his wisdom, honesty, kindness, humor
and his positive outlook.
Mike was a giant in his Muslim faith and devotion to God.
He was also devoted to family and those he loved and cared for.
He often showed that love through his cooking; having completed a program with
Le Cordon Bleu, he excelled in and loved to plan and serve delicious meals and new
and different deserts.
He was a Generous and Happy Man.
Daily Mike embraced his time for prayer and enjoyed his love of music, comedy,
cryptograms, cooking and reading.
Mike believed in helping the Homeless and in contributing to Feeding America.
Mike will be forever in Our Hearts, Loved and Missed by his Wife and Family.
A visitation for "Mike" will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A burial will occur at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas 77038
