Michael David Yost

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael David Yost, affectionately known as Mickey, who passed away unexpectedly at home on December 3, 2023. Born on October 29, 1956, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Mickey was the beloved son of Gene Curtis Yost and Wanda Sue Haught.

He graduated from Brook High School in Wellsburg, West Virginia. That is where he met and married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Vickie Andreozzi Yost. They shared 50 years of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Mickey began his career at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, working in the blast furnace and coke plant. He and Vickie relocated to Texas in 1982 to pursue new opportunities. There, he contributed his skills as a chemical operator and served as a valued member of the emergency response team at Aristech/BASF chemical plant.

As the only son, Mickey embraced the caring and supportive big brother role. He is survived by his two sisters, Tamela Yost Coen and husband Doc of Mingo Junction, Ohio, and Mechelle Yost of Channelview, Texas.

Upon moving to Texas, Mickey developed a love of all Houston sports, including the Astros, Oilers, and now Texans, unless they were playing his beloved Pittsburg Steelers. Mickey loved to travel and explore and enjoyed road-tripping across Texas. He also had a soft heart for all animals and never met a stray dog. Mickey also took pride in owning and operating Affordable Tree Service.

Mickey leaves behind a large extended family and circle of friends who will miss him dearly. Mickey cherished his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. His unwavering love and support knew no bounds, and he was always there to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. All who knew him will remember his warmth, kindness, and generosity.

He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. May he rest in peace, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A celebration of life to honor and remember Mickey will be held at a later date.
