Michael A. Villanueva

Michael A. Villanueva (Mike) of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the age of 63. Michael was born on May 3, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas to Louis and Teresa Villanueva.

A loving husband, devoted father, the world’s best grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and beloved friend to many. In 2020, he retired from Shell Lubricants after 30 years of hard work. He was kind, loyal, funny, and always the life of the party. He loved spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed cooking, keeping up with his yard, watching sports and traveling (especially to the casino).

Michael is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved family, which includes his loving wife of 42 years, Rita Villanueva. Two daughters Valerie Cortez (Richard), Adriana Zavala (Ricky). Three grandchildren Alyssa Cortez, Ryan Cortez and Michael Rex Zavala. Brothers Louis Villanueva, Richard Villanueva and Steven Villanueva. Numerous nieces and nephews. Along with a large extended family and friends.

His passing is a tremendous loss, but his memories will carry on forever in our hearts.

Visitation for Michael will be held at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 W. 34th Street, Houston, Texas 77018 on Monday, November 14th from 5 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1920 Marion Street, Houston, Texas 77009 on Tuesday, November 15th at 10:30 am. A committal service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 North Main Street, Houston, Texas 77009 with a reception to follow back at Holy Name Catholic Church.
