Mike graduated MacArthur High School and attended N. Harris County College. He had a career in computer-aided drafting at Cyclone Steel for 34 years. Mike had a passion for fishing and aeronautics.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nixon and Cynthia Swearingen and Edgar and Ruby Sorsby; niece, Emily Swearingen Jayroe.
Mike is survived by parents, W.V. (Pete) and Mildred Swearingen; brother, Will Swearingen (Christine); sister, Patricia Cugini (John); niece, Sabrina Vaughn (David); special aunt, Mary Cullum; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 30, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will occur Friday, June 30, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
