Michael Dean Neighbors

Michael Dean Neighbors, 48, lost his brave battle to cancer on February 7, 2020. He was born on July 14, 1971 in Denver, CO to Wayne (Dean) and Roberta (Jean) Neighbors. Michael grew up with a love for sports, playing baseball for several years. After high school, Michael joined the Army and later settled into a civilian career in information technology. He was devoted to his wife, Nicolyn (Nikki) Neighbors and proud father to Christian, Bailey and Holly.

Michael’s passion as a father and coach was evident in his love and pride for his own children, as well as for the numerous players he coached and mentored throughout the years. Michael was also known for his sarcasm, quick wit and having an endless supply of ridiculous puns.

Michael is survived by his wife, Nikki Neighbors; children Christian, Bailey and Holly Neighbors; parents Dean and Jean Neighbors; siblings Angela (Angie) Neighbors Bair, Barbara (Barbie) Holt, Trevor Bailey and Kelly Bailey; as well as parents-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael also leaves behind many friends he made through the softball and band communities in which he was active for many years.

Michael will be forever loved, missed and remembered by his wife, children, family and friends. A memorial service will be held at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, 13131 Fry Rd. Cypress, TX 77433, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 1:00pm.
