Funeral services will be held at Garden Oaks Funeral Home from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on April 16, 2024.
Michael was born in Houston, Texas, to Susie May Moore on November 30, 1952, and raised by Lula Mae and Willie Jackson.
Michael graduated from Houston Technical Institute High School in 1972.
Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army from July 5, 1972, to June 2, 1974. He served in the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment during his enlistment. He deployed to Friedberg, Germany, as a unit Supply Specialist and Armorer directly supporting the 3rd Armor Division Artillery.
Upon fulfilling his obligation to the U.S. Army, Michael returned home. Shortly after, he met and married his beautiful wife of 49 years, Sandra Cloud Moore, on November 26, 1974.
As a father, Michael loved all of his children in different ways. He was a great listener and always provided words of wisdom. He was forthright and expected a lot from his children. Michael loved grilling, fishing, and attending Sunday church services. Michael was full of life and loved his family tremendously.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sandra, and eight children, Earl, Sedney, Michael Jr., Michelle, Nathanel, Emmanuel, Elizabeth, and Jeremiah. He is also survived by three grandsons, Jaelyn, Emmanuel Jr., and Carter Moore.
