Brother Michael Chambers affectionatelyKnown as “Big Mike”On March 26, 1961 Michael entered this world toLeroy and Eva Chambers Michael was educated in Houston Independent School District, where he played football for Phillis Wheatley High School. Michael was taught to obey and have reverence for Christ Jesus at an early age. Late in life he was united with Fontaine First Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor John H. Brown. He had a longtime companion of 15 years, Shilici Johnson. Michael Chambers as a young man, he was employed by the City of Houston. After leaving the City he was employed by American Airlines until his illness prevented him from working. ?On December 25, 2016 he was called home for eternal rest after his long battle with diabetes and kidney disease. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Chambers, his sister Rena Lumpkins. He leaves to cherish his memories his, mother and stepfather Eva and Henry Eldridge, Daughters Shandrell, Brianna, Tiffaney, and a young man he cared for Matthew. Two brothers; Clifton Lewis, Anthony Chambers. Two Sisters; Brincla Chambers, Shalanda Chambers of Houston, Texas. Three Grandchildren, a dear aunt and uncle; Carolyn and Jay Jones of Hanelock, North Carolina and a second “Mom” Evelyn Lacy, a “special” Brother Earl Lacy, and two old and dear friends; Cleo and Jackie, A host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins friends.
