Michael Dale Hudson passed away January 21, 2016 after a long battle with kidney cancer. A lifelong Houstonian, he was born May 26, 1941. He graduated from Reagan High School and the University of Houston. Mike was a member and past president of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity where he met and married his wife Geri. He was member of the Texas Air National Guard.
After 30 years working as an insurance agent, he retired from Associated Insurance Managers to work with his wife in real estate. Mike was a caring honest man who believed strongly in serving God, family, and community. He was a Harris County Election Judge and Precinct Chairman for 12 years. He served twice as president of the board in Deerfield Village where he lived for 38 years. Also, he was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Michael enjoyed studying history, watching football, and baseball. He worked closely with his wife Geri in helping homeless animals and was active in his church for many years. His greatest pride and joy were Cole and Lily his two grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Geri Hudson, daughters Dena Hudson and Jana Johnson, son-in-law Mike Johnson, grandchildren Cole and Lily Johnson, brother Jim Hudson and wife Mary, sister Talley Hudson and husband David Sowers, sister-in-law Adelene Hohlt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James Lee and Margaret Hudson.
A Visitation will be held Friday, January 29th from 5-8pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, January 30th at 11:00 am at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Chapel immediately followed by interment and a catered reception at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made in Mike's name to the Delta Sigma Phi Foundation or Purr Paws Rescue Group of Houston. Information for both organizations can be found online.
