Lieutenant Colonel (Retired, USAF) Michael M. Greenspan, 82 passed away on March 2, 2022, at Methodist West Hospital with his loving wife Joanne at his side. He was born in New York City on January 19, 1940, to Alexander and Fay (Cohen) Greenspan.
Education was very important to Michael. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University and a Master of Science degree from Golden Gate University.
He proudly served in the US Air force for 21 years in varying capacities. He served as Base Commander, Executive Support Squadron Commander, Air Operations Officer and Electronic Operations officer. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He received several awards and medals in his Air Force career. He especially loved his position as Editor of the Air Force Navigation Magazine.
He is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Karen. He is survived by his wife Joanne (Ivey) Greenspan, his three daughters Amy (Ken) Matthews, Tammy (Ray) Still, Lilith Mensi, and his son, Daniel. His two grandchildren Rebekah and Micah Still will miss him dearly.
He is also survived by his brother Jason Alexander (Daena) and their children Gabe and Noah.
A Celebration of Michael’s life will take place on Tuesday March 8, at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Oaks Funeral and Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX. A reception will be held following the service at Austin Square, 14703 Eagle Vista Drive, Houston, Texas.
