Melton Marvin Henry, known as “Pops” by his grandchildren, went to heaven on the 23rd of March 2024 at the age of 79. A native Houstonian, Melton loved his family and was an award winning architect. His personality would fill up a room with his wit and kindness.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patty Crowder Henry; brother Milton Martin Henry and wife Jody; children, Jennifer Henry Ross and husband Kevin; Trenton Marvin Henry and wife Jennifer; grandchildren Elizabeth Fay Henry, Savannah Jean Henry and Trenton Marvin Henry, Jr.
Melton attended Lamar High School then attended Texas A&M University where he played football for the fighting Aggies. Melton loved coaching his kids and watching them and his grandkids’ sporting events. He was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. Melton was a blessing to all those who met him.
The family would like to thank the doctors at Methodist, especially Dr. Garth A. Beinart, for their incredible care. Melton would love for you to go play a round of golf or go catch a redfish in his honor. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice.
