Maxine was my aunt.  I will never forget the trips we took to see her as a kid but the trip I remember the most was the one  to Pine Bluff Arkansas. I was in the Navy ,going to tech school in Memphis Tennessee.  I got to spend the weekend with her and Uncle Ralph and got to fishing with Ralph.  It was like being home to this homesick sailor.

Maxine was my sister-in-law (my favorite), but she was much more than that. Her quiet--and often unexpected--wit, her love of family, the quality of her marriage with Ralph, and her willingness to share made her a model for me.  I have always been grateful that she and Ralph (alone among family members) kept in touch with my husband Orville throughout his life, but especially when he was serving in Korea.

Beautiful, loving mother, grandmother and GiGi (Great Grandmother) that loved all her boys.

Wonderful, caring mother.  I will so miss her sharp mind and quick humor. She was always there for me.
