I still remember you from our Academic Decathlon days together in Houston and our few moments together as classmates at Rice and Baylor. I wish I could’ve known you better and been able to help you in your work. You inspire me to this day.  Miss you Masoud!

Opposite of what some might think or books describing one’s feelings of loss waning with passage of time, I in fact, have come to miss you more & more, rather than less & less, and certainly not becoming callous to this profoundly sad loss over the years.

Remembering Dr. Massoud and his humanitarian efforts should awake us in the sense of following his path of help to the less fortunate. Little by litte the world could be a better place. That's what he finally tireless worked and lived for.

After two years the loss of Dr. Massoud is still hurting as it would have been just the day before...

One entire year has passed since you left us, but the waves still hit me, some higher than others... This is how I will always remember you

I knew Massoud when we were in high school. He was a  great guy, and although we hadn't kept in touch over the years, the news of his passing brought me to tears. We were in Academic Decathlon together and I'm glad to hear he used his incredible intelligence to make the world a better place for so many people.  My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I was very saddened to hear last week of Massoud's passing. Massoud was my med ref in Yida Refugee Camp, South Sudan. Though I knew him for only a short time, I could tell he was dedicated to his work and the people whom he served. He was a good friend and physician. I met Massoud while he was working in Arua Hospital (Uganda). It was my first mission . Massoud shows me around. He was really proud of the backyard garden where he planted eggplant, tomatoes,salad a true life lover. I was touched by his kindness,  his attention to others and taste for simple things.

I remember Massoud in Foya (north of Liberia) beginning of august 2014 arriving in this Ebola center with more than 100 patients mixed, a total chaos and remembering each patient, name status. I only just heard this evening that you are no longer with us. The world is a sadder place today for me.
It feels like just last week we were working together in Monrovia, then travelling back to Europe together and spending a week in Geneva readjusting back to life after fighting Ebola'.
I remember you sitting on the balcony with a cigarette, and you sharing them with me  your clear warm voice as you gave your opinion on things, your smile when you found something funny and how your face lit up when you smiled.  I remember your seriousness and the cool rational logic you applied to your work. It was always professional and compassionate.  I remember your compassion towards your patients. And I remember your compassion towards me when I was sick and you were my doctor. I felt taken care of in a calm and proficient way during a scary time thanks to you. I remember always being interested to see how you would react to things during a normal' work day, or in a meeting because your integrity shone.
You brought kindness with you. And a deep sensitivity. I enjoyed getting to know you in a different context back in Geneva, hearing your thoughts about life.  I enjoyed seeing your exuberance after a few glasses of wine, and how funny you are playing charades when drunk.  You were a lovely guy. You were and continue to be cherished and cared for and I am so sad to hear that you no longer walk this earth.  May peace be with you.
For Massouds family, I don't know you. But you must have been blessed to have Massoud in your lives. I send you all my heartfelt warmth and sympathy from the other side of the world in Australia. May peace be with you too.

We offer you our deepest sympathy and condolences for the passing of dear Massoud.  My wife and I met Massoud while we were in Haiti's Hopital Albert Schweitzer, 11 years ago.  We came to love him as a dear friend very quickly.  He was so warm, intelligent, witty, and genuine.  He had a bottomless generosity of spirit.  By far, striking up this friendship with Massoud was the most memorable experience from our time Haiti. 

In the years since, we kept in touch periodically, and we lived vicariously through his continued medical endeavors abroad.  He has always been an inspiration and source of the fondest recollection.  We will miss him terribly, as will everyone who knew him, I imagine.  He was a very special person to us.
