Mary Alma Wise

I was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on Saturday, November 3, 1934 to Joseph and Estella Esprit. I attended J.S. Clark High School where I was an All Star basketball player and graduated in 1952. I was an avid sports lover with Football and Tennis being among my favorites.

I married my childhood sweetheart, Murray Manning and we were blessed with five beautiful children, Ralph Joseph, Dinitia Katherine, Angela Maria, DiAnita Katherine and Keith Michael. I met and married Bernard Wise on July 10, 1980.

My love for medicine led me to become a Respiratory Therapist. I had the privilege of enjoying an amazing career that spanned over 30 years. My commitment to excellence moved me into management at Twelve Oaks Hospital from where I would later retire. After retirement, I remained very active, taking Line Dancing classes at the community center, and learning about all the new technology in computer classes.

I had a close personal relationship with God and I loved to study the Word of God. I enjoyed attending church and served as an active member of Faithful Church of God for over ten years. Praying for my family and sharing about the Word of God brought me great joy.

I departed this life on Monday, January 4, 2021 and joined in Heaven my Husband Bernard, my Mother Estella; my Father Joseph; my Brothers August and Edmund; my Sisters Beulah, Eula and Rita and my Step-brother Moses.

I leave to cherish my memories my Sister Ethel; my Children Ralph, Dinitia, Angela, DiAnita and Keith; my Grandchildren Toni, Tabatha, Que, Harold, Valerie, Travez, Christal, Sedrica, Keith, Neal, Precious, Kimberly, Adam, Shay, Emmanuel, Ashley, China, Tina and Brittany; a great host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
