On November 27, Patty White age 89, ran in to the loving arms of her savior, and then into the arms of Dick, her husband, who had been waiting patiently 25 years for their reunion. Patty was born Mary Patricia Bath on May 3, 1926 in Clifton Forge Virginia to Nicholas and Genevieve Bath. She is predeceased by her parents and her late husband of 38 years, Dick White. Patty and Dick were wed in spring of 1952. Patty followed Dick all over the country as he worked his way up the corporate ladder at Shell Oil Company. She is survived by her son, Richard White, her son Bill White and wife Tracy of Spring, and her daughter, Mary Ann Amelang and husband Eric Amelang of Seabrook. Patty was very proud of her grandchildren: Travis and Nicholas Amelang of Dallas, Randy White, Steven White and his wife Carol of Spring, and Megan Vrana and husband Nate Vrana of Spring. She was blessed with her great-grandchildren Emma and Analeigh Turner. She is also survived by her sister Jane Burks of Richmond, Virginia, and brother Bill Bath and his wife Linda of Atlanta, Georgia; nieces Mary Klotz and her husband Wayne, Patricia Allen and her husband J.D., and Camilla Fox and her husband Chris and their children, as well as nephew Tim Burks and his children, and numerous cousins and life-long friends.
After the death of her beloved husband, Patty led a full life, traveling with friends, working at the Church, attending her grandchildren’s sports events, playing bridge, and enjoying “wine night” with her friends. When she was diagnosed with leukemia in 2008, she continued to be active, even during the acute stage of her illness when she was on chemotherapy. The family would like to thank Dr. Elias Jabbour, Jenny Dahl, and the nurses and staff of fast-track at MD Anderson. They all were special to Patty.
