Mary Thompson Walker

Passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the age of 91.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frank

Dreher Jr. (1991), and her sister Ann Sexton Davis (2009).

Mary Lee was born in Rockdale, Texas on May 6, 1925 to Frank

Dreher and Myrtle Cannon Dreher. She graduated from Rockdale

High Scholl in 1942 and moved to Houston in 1943. Lee waited

4 years for Ulrich Leslie Thompson to come home after World War II

On December 10, 1945 and they were married on January 6, 1946.

She worked at the American Can Company and Koenig Iron Works.

Her creativity and knowledge of flowers led her to become the

Flower Committee Chairperson at Lazybrook Baptist Church from

1960-1990. She loved traveling and after Les Passed in 1992

She went and visited 44 states, 16 countries, and 6 Canadian

Provinces. Her brother called her a world traveler. She volunteered

For 7 ½ years at Memorial Northwest Hospital, now known as

Memorial Greater Heights Hospital. In 2001 she met

Jack Raymond Walker and after a year they married on

March 2, 2002. They had 10 years together before Jack

Passed in 2012. Her first marriage gave her a son, Lance

(she called her pride and joy) and with her second marriage

She gained 3 step-children; Carol, Debbie, and Martin.

She went from 2 grandchildren to 11; Carol (3), Debbie (2),

Martin (4), and numerous great grandchildren. Her

Love of a good game of 42 (dominoes) never stopped.

Visitation will be held Sunday March 12, 2017 from 2-4pm

With the funeral service on Monday March 13, 2017 at 10am.

All services will be held at Pat H. Foley & Co. Funeral Home

1200 W.34th Street, Houston, TX 77018.

Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale, TX.
