Mary Veronica Velez, 63, of Richmond, Texas, passed away on Saturday September 3, 2022. She was born in Long Island, New York on June 27, 1959, to Robert and Maureen Scholpp and later moved to Carmel, New York where she was raised and graduated from Carmel High School.
Mary later moved to Texas to raise her own children. She worked for Ameriprise Financial Services as a Client Services Coordinator in Houston, Texas. She was proudly a committee member of The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Mary loved to spend time with family and friends at social events and family gatherings and looked forward to her long road trips from Texas to New York each year.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Maureen Scholpp.
She is survived by her daughter Nicole and husband Mukhtiar; her son John and wife Dawn; her two grandchildren; her four siblings, Joyce Pulver, Eileen Scholpp, Robert Scholpp, and Pauline Spitzer; extended family, and innumerable friends.
A memorial service for Mary will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A reception will follow from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
