A native, and lifelong Houstonian, she graduated from Westbury High School in 1976 and attended Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston. Theresa was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
Theresa married Dennis Steen on June 2, 1979, and their 39-year marriage is truly one made in heaven. Together they built a lovely life full of fun and adventure with family and friends. Theresa worked as an executive assistant at a Houston oil company up until the birth of her first son William, in 1984, with the birth of her second son, Taylor, following two years later. For the next two decades she focused on the joy of her life, raising her two boys. Theresa was a dedicated mother who took immense pride in creating a loving home for her family. After raising the boys, Theresa went back to work as an office administrator, working the last five years at Fund For Teachers before retiring in 2013. Some of her favorite things in life included hosting large family holiday gatherings, relaxing on the back porch at the lake house and reading to, and playing with, her two grandchildren. Throughout her life, Theresa touched those around her with love, compassion, and selflessness.
