She was born on January 27, 1940 in Webb, Texas to Henry Vollentine Seger and Frances Marie Seger. She was the oldest of five children and graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Houston in 1959. She attended the University of Dallas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After initially teaching school, she became a long-term civil servant living in Copperas Cove, Texas until moving back to Houston in 2000. She loved animals and loved taking care of her horses, donkeys, dogs and cats. While she was still able, she loved delivering pet food to needy families on Saturday mornings.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Marie Seger; her four siblings: Dr. Michael Seger and his wife Christine, Victoria Seger, Jane Seger and Dr. John Seger and his wife Marian; and nine nieces and nephews, including her dear Caroline Frances Seger. She was preceded in death by her father.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77030. Rev. Douglas Guthrie will officiate.
