Mary Helen Pruett

Mary Helen Lewis Pruett of Galena Park, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2017. She was born on March 23, 1925 in Bedias, Texas to John Henry Lewis and Evada Lewis. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Hosea Lawrence Pruett, Jr.; her brother, Joe W. Lewis; half-sisters, Mildred Hampton, Pauline Walker and daughter, Sharon L. Pruett. She is survived by her son, Larry Thomas Pruett, Sr. and her daughter and Jeanine Pruett Harrington. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandkids, Kay Pruett Kral, Larry Thomas Pruett, Jr and Michael Wayne Pruett, 7 great grandkids and 2 great great grandkids; nieces Betty Wells, Birdie Wells, Lauretta Denene Bammel, Sandra Jean Pyle, Joyce Marie Bradshaw and Kathy Jo Hearn; nephews, Loyd (Sonny) Roscoe Harris, Jr.,Gary L. Harris and Jesse Inrich Weir.

Mary Pruett was the most caring, giving person. She and her husband, Buddy, moved to 18th Street in Galena Park right after WW II. If anyone was sick, Mary was there with food. If there was a death she was there in the kitchen taking care of everything, always ready to help. You never had to ask her, she was there. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Galena Park for over 60 years. She will be missed. Rest in Peace, Mary. We loved you.
