Mary DeLaune Melton, 88, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2019. Mary was born January 5, 1931 to Leslie J. DeLaune and Opal J. DeLaune in Lafayette, Louisiana. Mary was raised in Louisiana and East Texas and attended New London High School in Texas. On June 18, 1949, Mary married Jack K. Melton and soon after they were blessed with three children; Jackie M. Walker, L. Jann Melton-Kissel, and Kenneth E. Melton. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 70 years, Jack K. Melton; her children, Jackie M. Walker, L. Jann Melton-Kissel (Robert) and Kenneth E. Melton (Deborah); her grandchildren, Justin Clements, Brittany Huebner, Josh Walker and Blake Melton; her great grandchildren, Briley Clements and Brandon Huebner; and her sister, Joy Turner. She was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, John DeLaune. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020.
