Mary Alice Medel

She was a mother to two daughters: Laura Medel and Esmeralda Medel-Baxter. Grandmother to six grandchildren: Michael Martinez, Selina Garcia, Chase Paul Baxter Jr., Breanna Marie Garcia, Thomas Garcia Jr., and Ian Adam Baxter. She had two great-grandchildren: Brayden and Jaxon Baxter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and great nephews.

Mary had many hobbies, but the one thing she enjoyed most was fishing and spending time close to a nice, sunny beach. It was something she spent time doing whenever she could. One of Mary’s most precious recent moments was a Carnival Cruise she took with the family. She treasured the wonderful memories and fun that she had on that trip. She often mentioned the joy she had of having all of her kids and grandkids on one trip.

The family would like to express their thanks to the all of the family and friends who helped care for her over the past few years.

Visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will occur Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

A funeral service will occur Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
