Mary Ruth Lentz Lueck

Mrs. Lueck was born February 9, 1926 near Burton, TX, Washington County, to Fritz and Emma Lentz. She was baptized, April 11, 1926 by Pastor Herman Weber. Confirmed, August 2, 1942 by Pastor Paul Czerkus, all in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rehburg near Burton, TX.

She came to Houston, TX in 1946 and worked at Henke & Pillot for many years. On June 6, 1948 she married Oscar E. Lueck of Brenham, TX. In 1949 they joined Our Savior Lutheran Church of Houston, TX, with Pastor Walter H. Huber, then she became very active with the night Circle Group and also helping out in Good Samaritan Thrift Store. In 1984 she and her husband joined Concordia Lutheran Church on Blalock, Houston, TX with Pastor Roy Southard. After her husband passed away she went to work for many different Child Care Centers, the last five years were for Garden Oaks Church. She loved working with Little Children and very much doing her yard work and working with flowers.

Her songs, she loved were, How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace and Nearer My God To Thee. And very much loved the 23rd Psalm.

In 2002 she came to live at Emeritus Assisted Living on Fallbrook Drive due to health.

Preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lueck; son, Larry W. Lueck; parents; brothers, Edgar, Gus, Alex and Fritz, Jr. Lentz. and sisters, Ora Nell Marshall and Emma Jean Lentz. Survived by her sisters, Shirley Hackemack and Louise Sibley, brother-in-law, Burt Sibley; sisters-in-law, Ruby Lentz, Allyne Lentz and Doris Lentz.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Mary's memory be directed to Concordia Lutheran Church, 4115 Blalock, Houston, TX 77080.
