Mary Garcia LaFollette

Mary Alice Garcia LaFollette, 69, of Houston, Texas, was called home in the early morning hours of Friday, June 3, 2022. She was the daughter of Apolonio Garcia Sr., a car painter, and Eudelia Dominguez Garcia, a homemaker.

Mary is survived by her only daughter, Melissa Velasco and husband, Jorge, 2 beautiful granddaughters, Arianna Eudelia and Averi Lynne, her older brother, Roy Garcia and his family plus numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 older siblings, who died as babies and her big brother, Apolonio “Paul” Garcia Jr.

Mary served for a short time in The United States Airforce and later worked as a Legal Assistant for many years until she retired due to health issues.

Mary’s favorite past times were spent dancing and listening to music, traveling, and later in life loved just spending time with her daughter and granddaughters, who called her Momo. She also enjoyed watching her favorite soap opera, General Hospital, and having her daily Starbucks. She was a devoted animal lover and advocated for all animals.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo Navigation, 2516 NAVIGATION BLVD, HOUSTON, TX 77003, followed by a rosary service from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
