Mary Jo Walker, born in San Antonio, Texas on April 7, 1929, passed away March 4th, 2010 after a nine year battle with Lymphoma and Leukemia. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John H. Walker, Jr., 10 children, their spouses, 29 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. Her children John H. Walker III and Lea Ann Walker, Tamara and Mark Blair, Connie and Billy Wimberly, Rebecca and Tommy Zett, Chris and Pamela Walker, Mike and Lisa Walker, Pat and Sandy Walker, Tommy Walker, Cindy and Chris McClain, Colette and John Perez appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Mrs. Walker’s most important accomplishments in life related to the guidance and upbringing of her children, grandchildren, great grand children, their multiple friends, neighbors and many acquaintances. She was actively involved in multiple organizations including St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Houston A&M Mother’s Club, schools and political organizations including being named Texas A&M Parents of the Year in 1976. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston on Sunday, March 7th at 5 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary and the Funeral Service on Monday, March 8th, 2010 at 10:30 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church located at 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail.
