Mary Elizabeth Grant

Mary Elizabeth Grant, affectionately known to many as Beth, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on October 7, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. She was the loving wife of Eric A. Grant Sr., with whom she shared a devoted 15-year marriage.   Mary was born on October 30, 1964 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Albert and Rose Mary Seals. She graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1983 and attended Texas Southern University, leading to a successful career at Methodist Hospital and Acergy Offshore Company. As a devout Christian, Mary accepted Christ at an early age and was confirmed at Our Mother Mercy Church.   Everyone that met Mary loved her instantly. She enjoyed cooking with her husband, spending time with her family and friends, and giving back to her community. She volunteered at My Brother’s Keeper Outreach and was a charter member of the National Women of Achievement, Inc. Cy-Fair Chapter. Among other things, Mary was passionate about health, wellness, and breast cancer awareness.   Mary is predeceased by her Mother, Rose Mary Seals and Father, Albert Seals; Grandparents, Lucious and Emma White; Brothers, Leo Taylor and John Godfrey Seals; and her Sister, Sylvia Ann Seals. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her Husband Eric; Children, Eric Grant Jr. (Claudia), Andrew Grant (Neeharika), Jasmine Grant; and Granddaughter, Alexia. Sisters, Dianna Marie Brown (Willie), Rose Marie White, Theresa Bonita Tunsel (Charles); Brothers, Joseph Leon Taylor Sr. (Bettye), Carl Willis Seals, and Joseph Raymond Seals; Aunt Verline Doyle, Uncle James Cormier (Bridget) and a many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
