Mary Frances Garner

Mary Frances Helton Garner passed away Sunday, October 30,2022. Born to Reverend Jep Helton and Lela Clark Helton on July 6, 1929, in Sevierville Tennessee. She was the oldest of 6 children. She leaves one surviving sister, Wanda Helton Turner, of Floresville Texas. Preceded in death are brothers, baby Horace, Clark, and Carroll, along with sister Darlene Helton Reagan.

Mary Frances married her childhood sweetheart, Reverend Drew Mason Garner on August 7,1948 and shared many happy years until his death on March 7, 2017.

Her love of Christ, and her children were her undying passion and devotion.

She loved music and played the piano well, and pursued many types of art to include sewing, needlepoint, knitting and woodwork. Her gifts of these crafts are treasured by her family and friends to this day. Gardening was an additional gift, everything she touched bloomed and thrived under her careful eye.

Surviving family includes her children Philip Mason Garner and his spouse Carol, Brenda Kaye Garner Gillaspie and her spouse Raymond, Linda Faye Garner and Drew Mason Garner Jr and his spouse Betsy. Grandchildren Char, Mason, Eric, Bethany, Ty, Cassidy, Mike, Beth, Tim and their respective spouses as well as 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held on November 7, 2022, viewing at 1:00 pm, service at 2:00 pm and burial at 3:00 pm. Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd. Houston, Texas 77077.
