Mary Lee Gallardo, 97, of Houston, Texas, passed April 21, 2023. Mary was born to Phillip Alexander and Victoria Barber, July 11, 1925, in Gilbert, Texas. She moved to Houston, Texas and married Paul Gallardo in 1947, and they had one son, Gregory.
She is survived by: Son, Gregory Gallardo, wife Rose. She also leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren: Paul Gallardo; Rachel Nunez, husband Luis Nunez; and Jason Gallardo as well as seven great grandchildren: Marcus Gallardo, Isabela Nunez, Sofia Nunez, Mia Nunez, Gregory S. Gallardo, Kason Gallardo and Paloma Gallardo. She is also survived by sisters, Eva Mae Zylstra, husband Larry John Zylstra of Lufkin, Texas and Margaret Moncebaiz of Chicago, Illinois, and many loving nieces and nephews..
She was preceded in death by: husband, Paul Gallardo; parents, Phillip and Victoria Alexander of Lufkin; brothers, Phillip Alexander and Otis Alexander of Lufkin; sister, Mary Jane Navarro of Sacramento, California. Mary worked as a meat wrapper for Lewis & Coker for 25 years and as a receptionist for Heights Tower for 15 years. She loved to read, the more books, newspapers, magazines the better.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, April 27, 2023 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale at 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas with viewing at 12:30 p.m., Rosary at 1:00 p.m., Prayer Services at 1:30 p.m. with internment following. Her nephew, Deacon Alex Gallardo, will officiate the ceremony.
