Auntie Mary Jane Ford was born on October 21, 1936 in Crowley Louisiana to the late Isaac Gant and Jane Gant. Her parents Isaac and Jane Gant preceded (Auntie) Mary in Death. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Walter D Ford who faithfully served as a corporal in the U.S Army where the two of them were united in 1974 until Uncle Ford went to see the Lord on February 22, 1991. Although there were no off springs of the union uncle Ford and auntie Mary lived a wonderful life of love and happiness, which included vacations, cruises and the occasional Friday night get together at the house. The two of them enjoy 17 years of matrimony. (Auntie) Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Georgia Limbrick, Elizabeth Williams and her Brother John Gant.
(Auntie) Mary Jane Ford was born and raised in Crowley La, where at an early age she attended St. Theresa Catholic Church and prior to her being called home by the Lord she faithfully attended Our Mother Mercy Catholic Church here in Houston Tx. While being raised in Crowley La, Auntie Mary Ford attended Ross high school in which she picked up the game of basketball a game she enjoyed thoroughly. Mary remained in Crowley until the age of 20 where she decided to move to Houston Tx. While in Houston
(Auntie) Mary attended Houston Community college where her hard work and studies earned her a degree in Nursing, upon completion of her degree she got a nursing job at St Joseph Hospital where she faithfully served for 40 years before retiring. After retiring, although (Auntie) wasn’t a native Houstonian you couldn’t tell it because she loved being here, she enjoyed having fun, going on vacations, she loved music, she loved to dance and let’s not forget she enjoyed venturing out and experiencing different cuisines. She always stated “you can’t miss me with food “(Auntie) Mary was always happy and outgoing, she also enjoyed the company of her family. The family would always laughingly and jokingly call her the rich Auntie.
(Auntie) Mary was always called the life of the party, with a warm and beautiful loving spirit, by everyone who came in contact with her. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her sister Marie O Barrett, She leaves her nephews, Herman and Cedric Whiting of Houston Tx, Ray (Darla ) Deauvearo, of Harker Heights Tx, Darrell Deauvearo of Houston, Brian Barrett of `Houston Tx. Along with 2 nieces Donna Sesler of Wildwood Fla. and Ursula Deauvearo of Houston Tx.
