Mary "Terry" Theresa Espinosa

Mary Theresa Espinosa "Terry" of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday April 21, 2024 at the age of 84. Terry was born on August 14, 1939 in Houston, Texas where she grew up in the Magnolia Park area and attended Milby High School.

Early in life she worked as a Finance manager for A and A Finance and later found her true calling that would showcase her creative and talented side. She became a Florist and a self-made businesswoman who opened Flowers by Terry. Here, she and her husband, Heavy, created beautiful settings for special occasions, making memorable moments for family and friends.

She was actively involved in the church and the Carmelites and took vows with the third order of the Discalced Carmelites, which is one of the largest religious orders in the world. They are followers of Saint Theresa of Avila and Saint John of the Cross and Terry found great fulfillment in the work they did.

Terry is preceded in death by her husband Uvaldo "Heavy" Espinosa of 42 years until his death on April 5, 2003. Parents: Jesus and Paula Avila. Siblings: Sheila Perez and Manual Avila.

She is survived by her sister, Paula Avila, brother-in-law, Andrew Espinosa, sister-in-laws, Gloria Avila, Ernestina Flores (Ernest), Nora Sanchez (John) and, Orfelia Lopez. Children: Beatrice Romero (Michael), Debbie Madrid, Gina Yeppez (Bobby), Sheila Espinosa and, Joe Uvaldo Espinosa. Grandchildren: Eileen Galligan (Michael), Michael Romero (Nicole), Jaclyn Mascione (Toni), Simon Romero (Alyssa), Regino Madrid III (Karla), Thomas Espinosa, Joshua Yeppez, Jenne Madrid, Gabrielle Yeppez, Joey Espinosa and, Justin Espinosa. Great Grandchildren: Joseph Galligan, Aaron Romero, Breilla Romero, Micah Madrid and, Jaclyn Rue Mascione. As well as numerous family and friends.

We would like to thank Olga Almendarez for the care and compassion she showed our beautiful mother these last two years and Harbor Hospice for their care in her final days.

Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary to be said from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home,

6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral mass will occur Monday, April 29, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Bivd Houston, TX 77011. A committal service will occur Monday, April 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

A very special Thank You, to our family and friends, for all your love and support of us and our beautiful Mother throughout her entire life. Mom loved each and every one of you; she was an amazing woman and will be truly missed.
