Mary Ann Corpus Chacon was born in Houston, Texas on October 11, 1960 and was the first of seven children born to Pete and Lupe Corpus. She lived with her parents, her sisters, Rosie, Connie and Lisa and her brothers, Pete Jr., Paul and Johnny in the near northeast side of Houston until they relocated to Humble, Texas where Mary attended MacArthur High School. Mary was a smart, funny, kindhearted and mischievous person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always the life of the party, whether dancing the Electric Slide, the Cupid Shuffle, or starting a "sofa wave" at a home super bowl party. Mary was such a strong and wonderful presence! She was very generous and always placed the needs of others before her own. She loved Manuel Chacon, her husband of 21 years, and adored her three sons, Carlos Solis, IV, Eric Solis, and Scott Solis, and her grandchildren Devin, Alyssa, Logan, Haley, Sean and Andrew. Her bravery and grace during her long and valiant battle against Lupus were remarkable. Throughout her ordeal she retained her sense of humor and will be remembered as a woman of wit and courage.
