Mary was the daughter of Lucille and "Jizzy" (Joseph Cronin) Butler. She spent her childhood in Waller, Texas- graduated from high school at St. Agnes Academy in Houston and earned two degrees in Education from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Her life was well spent influencing many young adults with her beautiful character and excellent English classes. Mary was a devout and faithful Roman Catholic. Mary loved her Houston Astros and was a devotee of all the arts. After retirement, Mary pursued her lifelong dream of traveling to foreign and exotic places.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John, and her close cousins, Sheila Andre and Alissa Alban. She is survived by close cousins, Stephen Andre of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Barbara Alban and her husband, Johnny, their daughter, Karen Blankenship, and their sons Bill, Bon, Greg, and Richard Alban and their families.Mary is survived by her couson Adolph Pfeffer, Jr., wife, Noelie, and their two sons, Kirk and Blake, and their families.
Services for Mary will be held on Tuesday, July 14th at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with a 9 am Rosary Service, 10 am Funeral Service, and 11 am Graveside Service to follow in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mary's name to one of her 3 preferred charities: Covenant House of Houston, St. Anthony of Padua in Woodlands, or Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
