Mary E. Atkinson (Scooter) born March 10, 1939 beloved wife, mother, nanny, aunt, and friend, became an angel and went home to heaven on December 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clifton and Florence Philpot, brother: William Philpot, sister: Virginia Vezorak. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years George Atkinson, daughters Sharon Blanton and husband Rick, Denise (Necy) Ribnikar, son: Donald Atkinson and wife Mary Ann; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother John (Sonny) Philpot and wife Melva; sister-in-law Elaine Philpot; brother-in-law Adam Vezorak; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special adopted with the heart granddaughter and great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, TX 77039.
