Mary Ann Monroe Moore of Houston was taken home to be with our Lord and Savior the 23rd of October 2015. A native Houstonian, she was born the 10th of August 1947 at Houston’s St. Joseph Hospital to W.F and Hilda Monroe.
May Ann’s presence was felt throughout the city of Houston through her lifetime of activities and achievements in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Bluebell Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mary Ann had a distinguished career as a medical professional that complimented her nature to care for others. Her dedication and motivation can be a wonderful example to all those now part of Houston’s medical community.
The summers in New Braunfels spent with friends and family were some of her favorite times. Her faith and love for life seemed to balance in a way that would be a life approach for us all to try and achieve.
Mary Ann graduated from Bellaire High School and Texas Christian University where she earned her degree in nursing. She spent four years as an Army nurse stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia before returning to Houston to begin her medical career.
Mary Ann was a loving daughter, wife, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her husband, Chadd Moore; brothers, William A. Monroe and wife Debbie; Glen T. Monroe and wife Cathey; and sister, Kara Lynne Heiss. Her nieces and nephews brought joy to her heart. Chance Monroe and his three daughters, Lindsey Monroe Bacera and her two sons.
