Marvin was born on October 5, 1942 to Della Klieber Sims and Ervin Sims. He had a fun-filled and successful life. He served his country in the Vietnam War from 1967-1968 in which he was a Sergeant, received a purple heart, and was honorable. He worked for J&L Sheet Metal and Roofing for approximately 25 years in which he was an engineer/owner of the Roofing Department. He then became a 100% Disabled Vietnam Veteran and retired at an early age. He raised white doves for years. He traveled, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was passionate about pottery and paintings. He traveled all over the world to do what he loved. He married his wife of 23 years, Michelle Sims who is a true blessing and cared for him until his last day.
Marvin was hospitalized for 7 months in which he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that metastasized to all parts of his body. On Monday, November 21, 2022, he took his last breath and went to be with our Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his beloved wife Michelle Sims; daughter Beverly Sims-Bacom; son-in-law, Michael Bacom; step-daughter, Michelle Fontenot and her family; Joe Fontenot; and Henry Angeli and his family.
