Marvin Anthony King

Marvin Anthony King also referred to as “Tony” and others by “Baker” of Rusk Texas passed away on September 21st, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born on November 22nd, 1943 in Columbia Tennessee where he grew up.

He worked at Chemical Plants in Pasadena Texas for IMI General Contractors, Metro Corporation and F.S.I Inc. as a certified welder for 10 years then went to work for Draco Supply Company as warehouse stoker and checker.

He was an ordained pastor for 30 years and was presented the outstanding Christian Service with Baptists Men presented 1984-1985 by Bethel Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his mother Elsie Laverne Woods, father Marvin King Jr., sister Mary Anne Cargill, and brother Michael Allen King.

Marvin Anthony King is survived by his wife Cynthia M. King, his daughters Dena Green her husband James Green, Danielle Barnes and her husband Ronnie Barnes, grandson Todd B. Seber his wife Rebecca Seber, grand daughter Heather Sherman her husband Dakota Sherman, grand daughter Kayla Green, great grand son Trynt B. Seber, great grand daughter Stormy Sherman, and great grandson Harley Sherman. Brother Barry King residing in Livingston Texas, eldest sister Janie Rigall residing in Porter Texas, sister Judy Eshliman residing in Porter Texas, sister Rose Marie Setlocker residing in Cypress Texas, sister Sherry Daily residing in The Woodlands Texas.

The family would like to thank Matt and Dr. Swan with Hospice of East Texas Palliative Care for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their care and final days.

A visitation for Marvin will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at External Service Location, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.

Reception to include catered Farm Fresh Premium Breakfast following services from 4 to 6 pm.
