He worked many years for Granger building high-rises all over the Houston area and for Hoelscher before he worked independently as a general contractor. He was very selective about the jobs he completed as he had his own ideas in mind :)
Marty lived life on his own terms, embracing every moment with humor and an infectious spirit. He had a great sense of humor, a storyteller and had a nickname for almost everyone. He had a range of hobbies, including fishing, collecting various paintings, drawings, unique antiques, he had an eye for design. Marty loved a good party; some of his favorites were fish fries, crawfish boils, live music, anywhere, and floating the river, honestly anything outdoors. He was a selfless man and would put others’ needs before himself.
Marty and Desiree enjoyed hosting family and friends in their home that was decorated with all the things he loved, the cowboy way. If you were blessed to be a family member or friend of Marty's, you may have had the opportunity to enjoy his cooking, Marty loved to cook, with a glass of wine or beer in his hand. He was a long time volunteer at the Houston Livestock Show, Rodeo and BBQ, a part of the Cookoff Team, Blowin Smoke, commited a week every year, creating and making memories for everyone. Loved to entertain guests, listen to music and was a dancing fool.
Marty lived life to the fullest, full of goodwill and joy. He will be missed beyond measure..........
A Celebration for Marty will be scheduled for a later date.
