causes. She was born on June 9, 1929 in Hostyn, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Josef Dusek and Mary Srubar, Husband Alvin

“Hank” Kovar, Brothers Jerry, Pete, Frank, Vladimir (Lad) and Joe Dusek, Sisters Annie

Hrachovy, Mary Sumbera, Agnes Jurica and twin Sister Josie Matocha.

She is survived by her children Robert Kovar and wife Cindy of Hockley, Texas, Johnnie

Kovar and Joyce Swonke of Houston and Shirley Kovar of Florida. Grandchildren Monica

Ray and Husband, Scott, Kelley Cook and Husband, Greg, Amanda Brewer, Matthew Kovar

and Wife Amanda, Jason Swonke and Wife , Charity, and Twins, Andrew , and Adam Swonke.

Step Grandson William McRaney and his Wife Clara, and Step Granddaughter Mia Cook.

Great Grandchildren Patrick and Zoe Kovar. Step Great Grandchildren Mackenzie and

Mizuki McRaney. And she is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Martha was an incredibly loving Mother, Grandmother, aka Nana. She was devoted to her

Catholic faith and was 75+ years member of the Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas KJZT.

Her faith remained strong despite her challenging health issues. Martha was a tireless hard

worker who always had time to lovingly care for her children and her grandchildren. Even

during her illness she ended every conversation with " I Love You ”. Her passions throughout

the years were growing successful vegetable gardens, cooking delicious Czech food,

attending Czech dances with her Sweetheart and listening to Czech music on a regular basis.

Another passion was sewing hand made and embroidered quilts that we re beautiful and loved

by all. She was a caregiver for decades to many children who adore d her and was Nana to

many. Martha was a beautiful spirit and had a kind hearted nature that made everyone, young

and old Love her beautiful smile and sweetness resonated with everyone she met.

Due to the present restrictions on gatherings, a private service will be held on Wednesday

April 1, 2020, at the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston Texas. A Memorial Service

to celebrate Martha’s life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to acknowledge and send a special Thank You to the wonderful nurses and

care givers at Heart to Heart Hospice, The Medical Resort at Willow Brook and Willow Brook

Residence and Rehabilitation Center.
