Marta Mery Sierra

Marta, effectually called as “La Mami” by all family and friends, and “Ita” by her 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, was totally devoted to her family and her religious faith. She was married to Dario for 55 years before his passing and is survived by her four children and daughters-in-law named, Carlos and Janeth, Jaime and Leidy, Leon and Engracia, and Fredy and Betty. Her grandchildren are named, Vanesa married to Christian Trigueros, Mario, Stefan, Addie, Brennan, Dario, Emely, Sarah, Henry, Jacob, Lucas and Tawny married to Brandon Jacob. Her great grandchildren are named Nolan and Logan. All family members reside in Texas except for Tawny and her family who live in Louisiana.

La Mami was loved and appreciated by her family and all who surrounded her, or even met her for the first time, because of her kind and loving way and timely advice when needed. She was truly selfless and the constant force and strength that kept the family together and passed on to us a legacy of unity, love, strength, and selfless sharing that will continue and transcend well into the next generations by continuing to follow her spirit.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Rd, Houston, Texas 77065. The Rite of Committal will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079.
