Mark was born on February 4, 1964 in Houston, Texas and later graduated from Spring Branch High School. He attended Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College in San Dimas California and moved back to Houston after. Throughout his life, Mark worked with youths, was a banking associate at several branches and finally working in his favorite place, Chuy's, among his second family there.
Mark was blessed by his daughter, Erynn Perez Tucker. Along with his daughter and her husband, Richard, Mark leaves behind his mother, Eva Perez; father, Paul Perez; sisters, Teresa Smith and Denise Perez Paonessa; brother, Damon Perez; niece, Kristen Carter; nephews, Jeremie Stembridge, Mark Smith, Paul Paonessa, Collin Paonessa and Damon Paonessa and their spouses as well as grand nieces, Lilith Paonessa, Brooklyn Paonessa, Hadley Carter, Riley Paonessa, Luna Paonessa, Nola Smith and grand nephew, Caden Stenbridge, who loved to play with him so much. He was their favorite Uncle Mowk.
Mark lived his life the only way he knew how: full of love and compassion. So many have shared how Mark touched their lives and it's a further testament to his huge heart and loving nature. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh, his ready smile and a special greeting to everyone. He leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship. His love and devotion to his family was paramount and his eternal love of God was ever-present. Mark was loved by so many people and we would like to thank them all for their kind words and loving stories about him. The family would also like to express their gratitude to his Chuy's family and friends for their kindness and support. We do not mourn the loss of those who die fulfilling their destinies but instead we rejoice in the knowledge that his life meant so much to so many. Mark's destiny is one that will last for as long as those that knew him draw breath. We are forever thankful for the time we were given with him.
Family and friends gathered to share memories during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 8 at Central Baptist Church, 2855 Greenhouse Road in Houston, Texas, 77084, where services celebrating Mark’s life will began at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, with Rev. Dr. Larry Maddox, officiating. Graveside services and interment followed at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, also in Houston.
In lieu of flowers and if you feel led, the Gofundme for Mark's family is still available, or a gift to your charity of choice in Mark's name would honor the family.
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39
