Marjorie L. Gray

Marjorie “Margie” Louise Gray, 98, went to be with the Lord & many of her loving family members who she missed dearly. She went peacefully in her sleep on Sunday October 24, 2021 in Spring, TX. She was born in Nacogdoches, TX. on May 26, 1923 and she was the oldest of 8 children. Margie married the love of her life R.D. “Darrell” Gray on May 26, 1962. They had 36 wonderful years of marriage. During that time they enjoyed cooking dinners for the family (EXCEPT for Friday night, that was always date night), working in the yard, gardening and going fishing together. Margie herself enjoyed to embroidery. She would make gifts for friends and family. Margie’s mom was instrumental in teaching the family the importance of knowing Jesus. She accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior as a child. She was a long time member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

Marjorie is survived by her children; Nancy Vandegrift (Bill) of Montgomery, TX. Glenn Kirk (Donna) of Conroe, TX. Grandchildren; Tammy Walters (Jeremy) of Eldorado Hills, Ca. Jeff Davis (Ruth) of Orange Beach Al. David Davis of Conroe, TX. Troy Kirk of The Woodlands, TX. Toya Allen (Jeff) of Spring, TX. Brother Buddy Reneau (Marie) of Garrison, TX. Sister-in-laws Sue Reneau & Nola Reneau. 10 Great grandchildren, 2 Great great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Daddy Bill and Thena Reneau, her husband R.D. Gray, great grandson Taylor Davis, sisters Janet Stokes and Colleen Park, and brothers Robby “Duck” Reneau, Jack Reneau, Billy Reneau and J.W. Reneau.

Margie will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery 13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX. 77039 on Wed. November 3. Officiating will be Pastor Dr. Galen Cooper of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. There will be finger food provided during the viewing & visitation from 12-2. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
