Marjorie Mae George of Houston, TX entered heaven’s gates on the evening of March 17, 2014 after battling the last decade of her life to Alzheimer’s. She was born in Johnstown, Ohio on March 29, 1928 to Glenn P. and Dora Swick. Marjorie married Raymond Richard George (deceased) and later relocated to the South in the cities of New Orleans, Louisiana, Galveston, Texas, and finally Houston, Texas. Her favorite hobbies were spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, watching sports, playing cards, and enjoying swing music. Marjorie was a special person and was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Deborah George of Houston, Texas; Cynthia and Carl Bayer of Friendswood, Texas; Jodelle and David Duren of Katy, Texas. She also is survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Carla and James Holly; Ryan, Erika, Logan, and Brecken Duren; Chad and Morgan Bayer; and Christopher Bayer, all of Houston, Texas.

A viewing will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The Funeral will be held on Friday at 12:30 p.m. with a burial service shortly thereafter at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
